History

Originally purchased by sponsorship monies,  raised by the residents of Huddersfield some 50 years ago. Wharfeside House continues to offer clean, warm dormitory style, self catered accommodation for groups of between 15 to 30 guests, your booking is always for the entire property.

Located centrally within the beautiful, unspoilt Yorkshire village of Kettlewell, the area offers stunning scenery, tranquil gurgling streams, quiet roads and the very popular Scarecrow Festival, usually held in August. Managed by the Huddersfield Wharfedale Youth Trust, we are registered with the UK Charities Commission Reg. No.  503497.

The hostel is still run as a charity, run by volunteers, and as a not for profit organisation – any income over and above expenses are fed back into the upkeep of the hostel.
